Early results from Alpha survey
Alpha has been working with market researcher Investment Trends to gauge the expectations of high-net-worth investors for 2008/09.
The reason: we want to help leading advisers, who are Alpha clients, better understand investor expectations and trends for next financial year.
Here is a taste of some early findings:
- Almost half of respondents say their main investment goal for FY2009 is taking advantage of capital growth opportunities due to falling prices.
- Nearly half of respondents believe emerging economies will provide the best returns in FY2009.
- Almost three quarters say they will invest the same in FY2009 as they did in FY2008, suggesting investors remain confident despite market volatility.
- About half of respondents believe the biggest threat to investing in FY2009 is more problems in the United States due to the sub-prime meltdown.
We’ll provide more general updates when the analysis is finished and advisers who participated in the survey will receive their own customised report - courtesy of Alpha.
Investment Trends will also announce prize winners late next month.
