SMSF: Now is the time for Asia

From the editor

Exciting news. This month sees the launch of Alpha POWER Shares – 'Asian Lions' , a new way to get exposure to fast-growing Asian economies with capital protection and enhanced yield.

Asian stocks are rarely considered for conservative, long-term Australian investors seeking income rather than capital growth. But, as the stories in this month's newsletter show, Asia could be the place for yield this year with other major sharemarkets in the doldrums.

Having recently visited Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore, I am convinced China's growth is underpinned by solid domestic fundamentals – but there are plenty of risks (we'll show you how to avoid them).

I also spent time during the trip with the Lion Capital team, the Singapore fund manager that has won 80 awards in the past six years, and will be actively managing the Alpha POWER Shares – 'Asian Lions' portfolio.

I hope you enjoy this month's newsletter. Oh, and have a look at the pictures I took on the trip. Tell me what you think.
